Bab al-Rahmah (Gate of Mercy) is one of the three oldest gates of Masjid an-Nabawi, originally built by Prophet Muhammad (saw) in the western wall. It was located near the house of ‘Atika bint ‘Abdullah (RA) and was sometimes called Bab Atika. Similar in size to Bab as-Salam but less ornate, the gate was shifted westward during the mosque’s expansions while maintaining its original alignment.
