Bab al-Hijrah (Gate of Migration) is a twin-arched gate in the southern wall of the Second Saudi Expansion, located to the left of Bab al-Rahmah. It commemorates Prophet Muhammad (SAW)’s migration (Hijrah) from Makkah to Madinah in 622 CE. Initially, the gate had two portals, but two additional portals were recently added to the west, increasing the total to four.
