Bab al-Aqiq, located on the western side of Masjid an-Nabawi, is named after Wadi al-Aqiq, a notable valley along Medina’s western boundary. This valley, known for housing the residences of several prominent companions, also once featured the Qasr Urwah, possibly belonging to Sahabi Urwah ibn Zubair. Bab al-Aqiq is one of the smaller entrances to the mosque.
