Bab Abu Bakr (Gate of Abu Bakr) is located next to Bab as-Salam, toward the north. Likely named after the nearby house of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)’s companion, Abu Bakr (RA), it was originally a smaller entrance, referred to as “Khukha,” near the fifth column west of the pulpit. As with other gates, it was moved westward during mosque expansions. During the first Saudi expansion, its name was changed from Khukha Abi Bakr to Bab Abu Bakr.
