Bab Malik al-Saud (Gate of King al-Saud) is named after King Saud bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, who initiated the first Saudi expansion of Masjid an-Nabawi. Located in the southwestern corner of the King Fahad expansion, the gate features seven portals—two large ones on the sides and five smaller ones in between. It also has a single minaret on its southern border, one of the mosque’s six tallest minarets.
