Hejaz Railway Museum

The Al Madinah Museum, also known as the Hejaz Railway Museum, is a must-visit destination in Madinah. Situated on the grounds of the historic Ottoman railway station that once linked Damascus to Madinah (1906-1920), the museum offers free entry. Established in 2006, it explores the history of Madinah from the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to the present day. The museum features a rich collection of Islamic artifacts, including the actual bow of the Blessed Companion Saad Ibn Abi Waqas (RA), who played a significant role in the Battle of Uhud. It also displays Byzantine gold dinars used during the Prophet’s time and several preserved stone inscriptions of the Holy Quran from earlier generations. Located near Al Masjid Nabawi, the Hejaz Railway Museum complements a visit to Dar Al Madinah Museum, offering a deep dive into the city’s historical and cultural heritage.
